Autonomous systems that run without you.

Brinkman Dynamics is the parent company for Ryan Brinkman's products, systems and startups. It builds software that operates unattended and keeps a record of what it did: trading infrastructure, sensor networks, engineering agents. The kind of system where nobody is watching the screen, so the system has to be honest about its own state.

Systems

Each system has its own host, its own schedule and its own budget for failure. The status beside each one is what is true today, not what is planned.

How the work is done

Unattended software fails differently from software someone is watching. These are the rules that make the difference.

Measured, not asserted

A number on this site was taken from the running system on a stated date. If it was not measured, it is not written down.

Refuse rather than guess

When a reading falls below its confidence floor the system declines and records why. A wrong action costs more than a skipped one.

Instruments that cannot lie

A dashboard that reports success while doing nothing is worse than no dashboard. Every status has to be falsifiable.

Paper before real

Nexus has traded paper only since its first deploy. Nothing irreversible happens without a person deciding it should.

Work with us

Available for systems work: automation, data infrastructure, and applications that have to keep running when nobody is looking.
